Comic Stuff

My default style evolved from doodling in class when I was a kid. Even went through a phase where I aped Jim Davis's Garfield. Embarrasing, knowing now how bland that strip became.

(Speaking of which, Bill Murray? Voice of the character in two Garfield movies? Dude, you're better than that.)

So, yeah; why didn't I emulate Peanuts or Pogo, right? I did read 'em -- my grandfather kept collections that I devoured when we'd visit. And in time, the style I developed did grow more from those influences -- as well as Berke Breathed's Bloom County, Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes and Jeff Smith's Bone. At least, that's the level of stuff I'm shooting for.

While I do have a "default" style, if you will, I also explore variations. I'm a rebel! Watch out!

Madison Blues

Comic strip for my college paper (from 17 years ago?! jeez I'm old). Check out some strips, with a rambling commentary on how it all came about.

Bolt Action

Animated adventure concept. I'm retooling this; since it'll be a little while before that's ready, though, enjoy Bolt Mk I.

Trinity Universe

My first heavy-duty creative design work, a multi-genre roleplaying game line from White Wolf.

Batman Animated

Samples I created in the style of the more recent incarnations of the Batman animated series.
